The job
At Fortimedix Surgical we build on over two decades of experience in medical device product development and manufacturing. Our disruptive flexible articulating instrument technology platforms provide a competitive advantage in successfully addressing the key priorities for less invasive (robotic) surgery. Utilizing our state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities, our unique product architecture can be manufactured in high volume at low cost.
As a manufacturing engineer, your job is to build and ensure smooth manufacturing processes. By continuously optimizing the production processes and machines, you ensure maximum output is achieved at minimum costs at optimal quality and throughput time. You are responsible for the daily technical support of the production lines. Together with the production employees, you identify and realize opportunities for improvement. Your experience with similar projects helps you to keep the overview and drives you to achieve results. You will be part of a cross-functional and enthusiastic team consisting of engineers, technicians and operators.

You are a result driven engineer who thinks in terms of solutions rather than problems. You present your thoughts and ideas convincingly and to the point. Collaboration is in your nature and you value different opinions and perspectives. You have strong analytical skills that help you to look at questions from different perspectives and you are capable of suggesting out-of-the-box solutions. You are familiar with continuous improvement, process optimizations and validation of processes and machines in a strictly regulated environment. You show a strong sense of ownership.
Qualifications & competencies
- At least a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar;
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment;
- Experience in developing and improving production systems;
- Fluent communication skills in English and Dutch;
- Hands-on mentality, ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams;
- Preferably lean six sigma qualified (green belt or black belt)
